chrisfowler99
I know, usually, they're going to eat the leftovers from whatever else you're feeding...but there's nothing else to feed right now. They've annihilated the visible aiptasia in my tank. I have no idea what I cannot see. but if they've gotten rid of the stuff that I can't see, I guess they need something else...and I'd prefer they didn't start in on the snails... any suggestions? You can put a little mysis in there, but very little. They are scavengers and will eat; even if you can't see what they are eating.
chrisfowler99
I can tell they're still scavenging...I just want to make sure there's something to scavange. They're probably fine, but I'd like to hedge my bets. I've got another 5 weeks, minimum, before I introduce any fish.

You could loan one to me to eat the couple of aptasia I have, then I could give him back!
chrisfowler99
They're the only entertaining thing I have in my tank!!
princer7
When I had some in my frag tank, I would add some Spectrum pellets.
Rjohn
I put a dried shrimp pellet in once a week or so since my aiptasia are gone. I see them on top of the Koralias and everywhere eating algae after the lights go out.
ysanford
You could loan one to me to eat the couple of aptasia I have, then I could give him back! We don't mind loaning you ours for a couple days. We work pretty close to where you are and if you can pick him up from our office in the morning and bring him back before we close (just to avoid him being in a bag for a long period of time), you are more than welcome. johnoburns
I've seen the same as princer7. They like to eat Spectrum pellets. The pellets are pretty cheap, last a while, and most of my fish eat them too as part of their diet.
caferacermike
I just drop them in the tank and one of the octopus will usually eat them within a day or so.......... Or was that not what you meant by feeding them?

I think our strategies are slightly inverted. BTW, they love mysis.
ysanford
I think our strategies are slightly inverted. BTW, they love mysis. Yeah, our shrimp are always stealing it from our fungia and anything else that has a weak hold on it.
