pbnj
Anyone have any opinions/experience with any of the new MSX Cone skimmers?
Scoob
from what I gather the msx 250 can out skim the 1s. The 2s also shares the same body as the 1s. The only difference between these two is 1 pump vs 2. I think they are good skimmers but if you are looking at the 1s and 2s get the 2. Thats about all I know
rosslonghorns
If you're planning on doing the 2S, I would suggest going with the 1A. It is a single Askoll pump and overall a very good pump compared to the Sicce. I have been following them along with the Warner Marine K2's and the new Vertex cone Alpha 250. I think overall for the bucks and pump selection, the Alpha 250 (superb build quality from Royal Exclusiv) or 1A will be your best bet. I wish I had the bucks laying around to get the Alpha 250 as they have an introductory pricing at Premium Aquatics.
caferacermike
I thought that Sicce was the pump to have? Wasn't the the one coming on the Bubbleking skimmers when they came out?
pbnj
I was looking at the MSX site....the 1S uses a single Sicce PSK2500 pump. The SWC equivalent, the 1A, uses a single Askoll 1500 pump. Edited April 6, 2009 by pbnj
Scoob
Man I came so close to ordering that new royal exclusive the other day, went with I-tech instead. Was already pushing the budget as is
