thedude
Does anyone have any suggestions for a custom glass tank? I just got a quote from Aquariums for You out of New Jersey and it was PRICEY. A 36x24x24 starphire tank is going to run me... $1783.63 Again any suggestions? John
bigbird123
JOHN, Glasscages.com...you can get that tank with front starfire glass (or low-iron) for around $600 and pick it up in Dallas for $90 shipping. That's with drilling, overflows, euro-bracing, etc. Get everything together of how you want the tank and call and get a quote. You might be surprised @ the cost. thedude
Haha shut it Clint. Steve, I've heard that the old adage "you get what you pay for" applies to glasscages. Any thoughts?
GKarshens
I seriously considered Glass cages before I found the deal on mine. I read a ton on RC about them. I found that the happy/unhappy ratio was about 70/30. Also most of the complaints were that the owner was rude or the silicone was a little messy. I could only find one person that actually had a tank failure, and from what I hear that even happens to Oceanic from time to time. So anyway, that's my .
xcreonx
I bought my 24x18x18 35g Starfire from Miracle In Glass. It was about $900 shipped from their place in Canada to my old house in Florida (Shipping is PRICEY). It has 3 starfire sides and an external overflow. It has 1/2inch glass all the way around and a eurobraced top. VERY beautiful tank. I recommend Miracles in Glass!! Oceanic does custom tanks too, but I know they are just as expensive. bigbird123
John, Every glasscages tank that I have personally seen is Jamb-up but ALL manufacturers will have "lemons". Just my $0.97 worth of ink. Steve
