RO/DI off of a hose bib?

I put on a valved splitter in the laundry room, hooked up the hose bib and hose, turned on the valve part of the way and the RO/DI started filling.

Turned it up a little more and the line blew off the hose bib (taking the o-ring from the hose bib with it)

Thinking maybe I should go buy a better hose bib from Home Depot that will lock the line in more solidly.

I think kyle's old (and new) setup are both off of hose bibs.

is it a John Guest fitting or just a hose bib that is barbed?

I bought a brass one at Home Depot that's working great.

I pretty much figured out that I'm missing the locking end piece...No idea what happened to it.

It's all working now, though. In-line dual TDS installed, reading 0 on output. cool.gif

just out of morbid curiosity what is the tds on the inbound (raw)water side?

Really? My post RO is about 4. How long have you had your membrane? Are you on well water? Maybe your start value is much higher.

Membrane is brand new

The number was still dropping...really slowly, so it could be below 16. I haven't run it for long since installing it.

I'm on Georgetown utilities, and the water is really hard around here.
