luckylou
Finally got some stuff moved around in the house and the tank has its new home. Time to start the plumbing! Here is where I may need some help! There are two input drains they are 1 1/2 in. what will this give me as far as flow? I was told a 1.5 Inch Bulkhead = 1,500 GPH. Is this a safe assumption? Is this a safe assumption? yes...but that is with out any bends...straigtshot down....you will loose a little with a bend or 2. but honestly it matters more what your pump sends it....just don't overpower your overflow... luckylou
Can anyone tell me why there is holes drilled all around the second overflow?
chrisfowler99
Can anyone tell me why there is holes drilled all around the second overflow? I was curious about that one too... I'm guessing it's not actually an overflow, but just a place to put stuff, like maybe a heater, so that stuff can't get at it?
+Capt. Obvious
Can anyone tell me why there is holes drilled all around the second overflow? you mean the swiss cheese box you have there?...honestly....i have no idea...maybe to pull water from the full water column instead of just surface skimming....seems a little convoluted...looks like it would all clog pretty easily. I'd fill it with live rock rubble and let it filter crap. Edited February 9, 2009 by Capt. Obvious
