Cool Breeze Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 So I bought new bulbs for the fixtures that came with the tank. It looks like the problem was not the bulbs in 2 of them. I put new bulbs in and 2 still don't work. They are coralife fixtures. What else could be wrong? Quote
Bill B Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I would guess the most likely culprits are your ballast in those two fixtures. Bill Quote
caferacermike Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Ballasts are toast. Coralife is the second best from the bottom up. Get it? That's 1 step above junk. Good thing is that ballasts are easy to replace. It's even possible to replace them without anyone noticing. Generally a Fulham Workhorse 5 or 7 can be shoved into the fixture as a cheap but ultra reliable replacement. If you'd like help I've done it several times. PM me for more details. Shop victoriously on Ebay or at www.Corareefbazaar.com It's a difficult site to navigate through, almost as though there really isn't a shop at all, but in the back somewhere they sell them for a reasonable amount. Fredric charges a lot for local shipping but will generally set it right if you contact him and or will generally meet you about halfway to Jonestown. Quote
Cool Breeze Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 Cool I just ordered 4 Workhose 5s $100.34 shipped to my door. I'll get with you on how to wire them when they get here Quote
