AndrewT Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 so Ive had 2 fire fish that have just up and died. The first as in my tank for months and showed absoulutly no signs of declining health. The second I bought a week ago along with some anthias and he seemed to aclimate great swiming all through the tank and eating. All other live stock is great all water parameters are perfect. What gives? In both cases they were fine one second the next thing I know they're gonners. This one died right after feeding. Is it possible he may have eaten a pellet to big for him? Also I've seen a huge bristle worm in my tank can it be possible that they were stung by a bristle worm ahhhhh help me please Quote
GKarshens Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Sometimes that happens. I have had that happen on a few occasions. I don't think the bristle worm is to blame. Quote
AndrewT Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 So it is possible that he may have took in a piece of food that was too big. I watched him eat a whole pellet turned away for a bit an when I looked back he was a gonner. I'm real bummed I just got him last week. Thanks for the input Quote
JEN H Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 My husband and I tried fire fish in our nano earlier this year....they lasted a total of 4 days....so we have never gotten that fish again. I know people like them, but we personally don't care for them after our experience. I would shoot for something else. We had awesome luck with our PJ Cardinals, infact....these type of fish are pretty much bullet proof. They are cool too, and just hang around. Not aggressive at all. Quote
pbnj Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 (edited) You wouldn't happen to have any dottybacks or pseudochromis in the tank, would you? That would be a lethal combination (for the firefish). Edited December 5, 2008 by pbnj Quote
