mhart032
Ok, so its been a while since i posted about the tank, 2 or 3 or 4 months of dinos and then cyano made me almost shut it down twice, finally i have everything under control for the most part. I picked up my frags from Ty on Friday.. rephrase, my now mini to med colonies taking up his frag tank space ( thank again Ty for holding on to them for umm 4 months? lol) I still need to mount them as i see where they are happiest, just acclimating them to my system. Being this is a 20Gal dominant SPS tank i went a head and got the Alkatronic after talking to Ty about it while i was looking at his, its quite a bit smaller than i thought i was going to be so it would fit in my stand by the apex with no issues. ill update some pics as soon as i get things mounted and secured properly and corals get acclimated.
mhart032
So.. the 20gal is scraped. it wasn't going to work out .2 to .5 alk is just to much for the sps in such a small body, i literally sit next to the tank most days in home office, but still the alkatronic has been ok, but off still ive checked and remixed so much reagent that i have at least a gal of it and i think its the fact of room to put all the probes and ato, 2 part lines and feed line for the alkatronic is just to close to each other and its throwing off the readings. so that being said. Im upgrading! got a great deal on eddius-maximus red sea 450 so i picked it up today, and cleaned most of it tonight. so ill be starting another thread with this this upgrade, honestly the 20gal was always a starter tank to see if i really wanted to get back in, and well i guess i did cause here we go.
Jimbo662
Nice upgrade...is this that "bargain" tank that was recently posted?
mhart032
Thanks, Yes sir it was posted last weekend and I'm pretty much jumped on it, it was pretty dirty, but some vinegar and some razor blades took me about an hr to get the back wall cleaned of the coralline and stuff. But that's why he sold it so cheap was the cleaning. I paid 300 for tank, stand, sump, ATO reservoir and all the plumbing. everything is really in good condition after the clean up. Hard to pass that up. Thanks again Eddie!
Sierra Bravo
I thought to myself when I saw the post that someone was going to get a heck of a deal. Congrats!
mhart032
Yes sir, thanks! im excited about the build, this is my biggest display tank by 2gals but its long not like the neo 90, which i had a love and hate relationship with due to the tallness of it.
