jsr
So what is everyone doing to prepare for Ike? The forcast keeps moving the storm east of Austin but I wonder what everyone is doing to prepare. Just curious...What about the tanks and the family? Hope everyone stays safe and we get some rain for the yard! James
chrismunn
its supposed to still be a tropical storm by the time it gets to us right? im guessing that in the worst case scenario, some of us might lose power for a few hours? at least i HOPE that would be the "worst case"! i personally have no active plan... +mcallahan
I'll be out of town so I hope for the best! Im thinking we might lose power for a while, but i'm not too worried about anything else. Hopefully Lake Travis fills up too!
jsr
Right now they are saying we could have winds betweem 40 and 50 mph in Austin. Who knows. There is no way to say exactly where it will go. Hope for the best, and stock up on beer for the weekend.
cpreefguy
What he said. Stock up on beer, and I have a straw just in case I need to blow bubbles in my tank to keep it aerated!
chrismunn
i gotta say, this has been about the most un-climactic event ever! first it was supposed to reach us as a catagory 1 hurricane with the potential to flood parts of the area. now its 10 mph winds passing us by with NO rain at all! i wasnt looking forwards to anything damaging, but i did want some rain!
