Rocks Reef
Where is the best place to put my circ pump so I don't blow away my frogspawn?
jestep
Is it a supplemental pump or for the whole tank? for the whole tank, I usually aim for as high as possible without sucking air. It does depend on the tank setup but this has been the best location for general flow in my experience. For supplemental flow, you'll want it above but not directly at coral unless they're all the way across the tank.
Sascha D.
I place my frogspawn and other Euphyllias away from direct flow. They should have good movement, but the pump shouldn't blow all of the polyps to one side. You'll also want to place them so that the pump isn't blowing the flesh into any rocks or other corals. Rocks Reef
Thank you! I should had added that it is a EVO 13.5 gallon. I am running the 240 Koralia for additional flow. I was thinking of moving to the opposite end of the tank and have it colliding with the return outlet. Tank has hammer, frogspawn, Duncan, galaxies, RBTA and my toadstool (temporarily). The toad is waiting for the 90g to cycle.
rosslonghorns
In my 30 gallon, I also have a separate circulation pump. I have it on one side with the "return" on the other side allowing them to flow into each other and then disperse. It has seemed to work well for me. I also have frogspawn and have it situated in a less direct area however it does have gentle movement from the residual movement. It seems to do better without direct current.
