I think they are more referring to something bite-sized, like a sexy shrimp or something else. If anybody has ever experienced something else, please do share. Gig 'em @ NDstructible Posted March 31, 2016 Share Posted March 31, 2016 I'll agree with Ty, a hawkfish will only eat something it can fit in it's mouth (although sometimes that can be a surprisingly large size), but I would not think it would eat a harlequin shrimp. ShawnM Posted March 31, 2016 Share Posted March 31, 2016 I had my arc eye hawk fish and it ate both cleaner shrimp I had and 5 peppermint shrimp. I am pretty sure the red and arc eye have the same eating habits so I think it's a hit or miss and also I think it depends size of tank how much food it is getting and so on.
