Clark
I have a large toadstool that is in the process of dropping off one of its lobes. This has been progressing slowly over several weeks and it is about 70% complete. That lobe and the others act healthy in all respects including full polyp extension during the day. Is it better to leave the coral alone to do this itself via gravity and wave action over several more weeks, or should I get in there with a scalpel and finish the job for it quickly? Thanks Clark
Timfish
I'd say it's one of those "half dozen of one or 6 of the other" decisions. How patient are you? What happens to the frag if it finally separates when your not there? Is it possible for it to land on something causing problems?
Clark
It will be safe to fall and drift a bit if I'm not there. I'm patient, and just looking to minimize its stress and heal time.
