Hamp
My chiller made a scrubbing noise when it first came on last week, so I knew something was up. Today, it started to squeel and still scrub. It is a current prime 1/15. I was going to try and take off the housing and see if I could check the fan...but after removing the 8 small screws there is still something attached to the upper part of the housing. When I peek in it looks like a 1/8" metal line that coils 2 or 3 times on the left side of unit runs to something attached to the upper housing. Anyone know how to get in there, or somebody to fix it tomorrow? My tank runs so hot in the daytime, I hope it makes it through tomorrow. Hamp
Well, finally took that thing apart, which was a little tricky, and greased the fan shaft and sprayed some wd 40 in the housing. Put it back together, and it is working quieter than ever.
+Bmwaaron
Glad to see it was just a noisy fan bearing.
