nuxx
I've been raising the salinity in our tank and have an issue now. Our hydrometer is reading 1.0185 and our refractometer is reading 1.0205. Was wondering if anyone could swing by with their refractometer or hydrometer and get a third reading to see where I am. Thanks so much guys! Btw: We're in Bee Cave around 71/620 area.

victoly
If you swing by my office I can test with some of our instrumentation.
+reeflover
My work is at 360 and 2244, assuming I am closest to you. I can bring my refractometer to test if you like to stop by.
nuxx
Thanks for all the offers guys! Ended up just ordering another hydrometer with some salt. I think the Refractometer is off since it was calibrated for hypo. My hydrometer has been spot on for years. I just want another to compare it with. Manny
I would trust a refractometer 100 times over a hydrometer. Just get it calibrated and you're good to go.

Manny
Does anyone in town sell calibration fluid? You're definitely going to want to buy your own solution. I calibrate mine before every single use. While most of the time its still spot on, there have been several times where just after one use it was no longer calibrated. nuxx
Thanks guys Ended up finding the calibration fluid that came with the refractometer. It was off a tiny bit 0.001. The Hydrometer was waaaay off. The new Hydrometer also lines up with the refractormeter after it was recalibrated... so I'm guying with that number
