Last weekend my parents gave me there old sump prefilter box thing. I kinda know how it works but was wanting pros and cons on if i should make the change. The sump is a Aqua Clear Aquatics Model 175. They gave me there return pump and external over flow box also. My tank isnt drilled. chrismunn Posted February 10, 2008 Share Posted February 10, 2008 how framiliar are you with the application of a sump? all you need to get it running is an overflow box, some drain line, the sump, a return pump, and retun line. its pretty easy to set up. you can then get a small clip on light and add some macro algae to your sump to help with nutrien export. you can also add your heater and skimmer to the sump to keep it out of view in the main display.
