haze152
I have done some research on the intercept method and it appears to be the most effective way of removing Red Bug without removing corals however, I have a few question about using this method. 1. How many treatments did it take? 2. How long did you do the treatment for? 3. I have a Mandarin Dragonet he does eat frozen shrimp. Does it wipe out all the pods? 4. What kind of ammonia spike did it cause? 5. How long after treatment did you wait to do water change and how much? 6.How longer after treatment did you change GFO and Carbon? Juiceman
1.) 2.) I did one 24hr treatment and they were gone. I haven't seen them since. 3.) I have a Mandarin as well, no problems. 4.) There was a small phosphate and nitrate spike from the killed inverts and pods. 5.) I didn't do a water change, but I don't do water changes 6.) I Just put fresh Carbon every day for a few days and emptied skimmer everyday, GFO I just turned it back on after treatment.
haze152
After doing more research it looks like intercept was discontinued. Has anyone tried any other full tank treatments?
FarmerTy
Not full tank but those suckers will die using the Bayer insecticide as well.
haze152
problem is I have a few colonys that are fully encrusted on large rocks. There are a few poeple using Interceptor Spectrum and Sentinel made by same company as Interceptor
Woods
The articles I have read on ReefCentral said to do it in your DT and not a QT so you should be fine with them encrusted on your LR.
