glumslum
can anybody spare a small live rock filled with purple and polys to seed my new tank?
Sascha D.
I bought some nice pieces from Stinky's Fish Mart to seed my tank. For 5 rocks it only came out to about $20. ARC First Friday Sale is coming up on September 6th. You get 20% off all livestock and live rock is included in that sale.

Sascha D.
They both have addresses in the sponsor section of the forum. When I seeded some dead rock, I bought a bottle of Live Nitrifying Bacteria from Drs. Foster and Smith for $5. I added 1/3 when I started the tank and 1/3 about a week later. You can also get a bag of bugs from AquaDome for $10 if you call ahead. I hear that it's pretty good and it contains copepods, amphiropods, worms etc.
Sascha D.
You can find live sand from time to time in the "Free" Forumn. Not everyone is in to sand, but it's an option if you are. The only problem with used LS is that it can sometimes come with things you don't want. It can also come with a fair amount of dirt, which will spike your ammonia and nitrates.
