basically you mount it to the side of your tank/sump at the level you want your water to be and hook up a resivoir and either make a gravity fed ato or buy some kind of ato system, these are best used with gravity fed IMO. basically the valve floats on top of the water and whenever the water line drops so doses to float, which then allows water from the ato resviour to replace the water in tank/sump if that makes sense. A simple search on google for gravity fed ato should give you plenty examples

Just run 1/8" (guessing on the diameter) jaco PE tubing into it from your ato reservoir and it actually should work. I would probably test a lot first before trusting it though. You should be able to find 1/8" jaco bulkheads so you can attach it to the ATO reservoir.
