victoly
I'm looking to experiment recharging GFO and DI resin, so if you're at the end of life on either of these items, save them up and I'll come get them from you. Thanks!

victoly
I'm recharging GFO based on this guide:http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2010/10/chemistry DI resin with this guide:http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-09/nftt/index.phpI have access to these chemicals and appropriate safety equipment. I want to get good at this and then work out some kind of coop where you bring me your media, I clean it, and keep some to reselll and give you the rest back. or something. (Bio)³
My parents have a few jugs of that sodium hydroxide **** laying around in San antonio for cleaning their salt water pool electro plates and other parts. I'll let you test and make sure it works before I even attempt to try this
victoly
Its kind of an economy of scale thing, especially for the DI resin. You need reactors (which I ordered) to efficiently remove the crap that you acid-ed/based out, in addition to the chemicals, and RODI water to rinse. +olaggie01
I've been meaning to do this with my GFO. I have several pounds of used GFO to re-charge when I figure out the specifics. Guess I need to read up on it a bit.
