subsea
I will be ordering live sand from 15 miles offshore Tarpon Springs. With same day pickup at the airport it will cost $3 per pound, if you want some. This is not revenue for me. If you want some, make arrangements individually with me. Sunday 6 PM, this offer expires. I watched a video of Dave, owner of Live Florida Rock, at his live sand collection site. Dave and Richard Harker of Tampa Bay Saltwater both located out of Tarpon Springs have operated leases for live rock for the last 20 years. TBS leases are located at the same location as live sand collection of Live Florida Rock. Dave's leases are located 35 miles offshore in deeper water. TBS live rock has more variety in diversity of macro algae. Because I already have diversity in macro, I will use the live rock collected in deeper water to make my top end designer combo live rock. When I figure out how to better use this iPad, I will post links of the two sites. Regards, Patrick
lewisweil
Do you deal with them often? I don't have use for it now but I have long wanted to do a tank with their stuff and see what crawls out.
subsea
I have not dealt with Dave. Russ Kronwetter, CEO of Gulf Coast EcoSystems, spoke highly of Dave and actually has dived at reefs of both sites. I know Richard Harker of Tampa Bay SaltWater for twenty years. During our first conversation, I was at work 200 miles due south of New Orleans on a Transocean drilling rig in 5000' of blue water. Five minutes into the conversation he said he was fishing a tournament out of Biloxi, Miss in Green Canyon. I then asked him if he was on the vessel "Sea Witch". When he said yes, I asked him if he was the skinny white guy with the good looking babes sunbathing on the flying bridge. Go figure, it is indeed a small world. I will let you know what crawls out in two weeks. If you are interested, I am allowing people to purchase individual pounds of this for $3 per lb. jestep
Are you ordering any live rock? I need a single 3 - 5lb'ish, small rock for my display fuge I'm setting up. I've seen pictures of their product in the past and it's pretty amazing, but I sure don't need 20 lbs right now.
(Bio)³
I'll wait for the rock to be ordered then
subsea
Yes, I am ordering 150 lbs of select deco rock. The standard deco live rock can be ordered direct with a minimum order of 20 lbs for $100 which includes shipping. Add $1/lb for select deco rock. The select deco rock is $6/lb and I will use it to launce my product line of top end combination live rock. Come out and evaluate. I have chosen to help people with live sand, but I will not piggyback live rock orders. Too many problems with cherry picking.
