Vrolik Wrasse

Hey Austin reefers,

Just wondering if any of you have had any experience keeping a Vrolik's wrasee? I have been eyeing these guys for sometime now and they seem to be beautiful fish, but they are pretty hard to come by, and there is not a lot of information out there on them. The only place that I have found that seems to get them from time to time is LA.

If you have any experience with these guys I would love to hear about it.

Here's the info from LA:

I haven't keeped that specific fish but have had th closely related Christmas Wrasse, Halichoeres ornatissimus, without any major issues. It "probably" will leave Coral Banded Shrimp alone but technically any shrimp, small snail or fanworms/featherdusters may be preyed on. They're also supposed to like fireworms, flatworms and pyramidelllid snails which are parasites of Tridacna clams.

No doubt a jumper, must have the tank well covered. I've had potters wrasse and a few leopard wrasses, pretty similiar I think. They will eliminate all amphidods in your tank, great hunters. It looks like a cool wrasse!

Yeah I figured, should have that covered I hope. Got the homemade screen window frames with the clear netting. They seem to work pretty well.

Don't know why but yeah I love them wrasses, they are just cool active fish....
