Mushroom will not fully expand

My parameters are in check but the two mushrooms I have in my 37 gal will not full expand they just stay shrivelled. Oddly, they look amazingly healthy with great color so I suspect maybe the light or flow is too great? I am just wanting to know if anyone has had a similar problem and how they handled it. BTW I have Zoa's in the tank and they are in perfect condition.

Most variety of mushroom prefer low light and subdued flow. I have kept mushrooms for years under low light. Certain species, such as Ricordia, require more light. I have also noted that the rougher the texture of the mushroom, the more likely to benefit from heavy feedidng. The bigest surprise I got from this was an Elephant Ear Mushroom that eat a mudium sized Yellow Tang.

Try moving them to an area with less light and flow. I have seen results within a few hours after moving.
