cjwl
I'm looking at homes, but was concerned about putting a 75 gallon on a wood floor. It's not laminate, but either engineered wood or real wood. Does anyone have any info? TIA.
mFrame
Shouldn't be a problem at all, but you may want to put something like a small carpet with rubber backing under it. It's not the weight that should worry you, but a leak can cause seams in laminate flooring to swell.
+dapettit
I'm having laminate put in this month. They are cutting the carpet around the tank, not movng a 150 gallon tank. I was told saltwater will ruin the floor, but I use a very large tarp on the carpet now and they said that would protect it while doing water changes. All this was said to agree with what Mike already stated. Dave-
wa1tx
at one point I had a tank in my bedroom that has wood floors(bad idea if you are a light sleeper). I had a rug with a rubber back that I used around it when I was doing maintenance. I also was very vigilant of spills and drips. Never had any issues. cjwl
Thanks everyone! I really prefer tile floors, but I may not have a choice.
