Hi everyone in Austin. The Central Oklahoma Marine Aquarium Society, COMAS, www.mycomas.com, is having its first annual Oklahoma City Conference for Reef Aquarists and Saltwater Enthusiasts (CRASE). This will be a single day event and will comprise keynote lectures by Dr. Ron Shimek and Mr. Steve Tyree, both of whom are distinguished speakers in the area of saltwater aquariums. In addition the President of COMAS Dr. Paul Whitby will be discussing fragmenting corals. There will also be a hobbyist coral frag sale, vendor and trade displays as well as numerous door prizes. Steve Tyree will also be bringing limited edition corals frag for sale as well. www.craseokc.com

Date: October 13, 2007

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Place: Sellers Special Event Center

13700 N. Eastern Avenue

Edmond

Oklahoma 73013

We are inviting everyone in the surrounding states to come. We hope to expand this into a two day event in the next few years. If you have never been to OKC, check out all the things to do. We have revamped our downtown into "Bricktown" with lots of fun things including a canal running through it. Make a whole weekend of it. Edmond is a great place for shopping if you have spouses who don't like the hobby.

Hope to see some of you there! Thanks-

Hi again Austin reefers. I wanted to add this info on our conference in Oct.

There will be a coral fragging demonstrationa and hands on workshop: In this workshop we will show you how to prune corals, how to mount them for the best growth and effect and also what tools you will require. We will supply everything you will need. The frags you make will be available purchase at minimal cost.

People attending this informal workshop will be shown how to make and mount frags of an SPS species, an LPS species as well as soft corals such as leathers and zoanthids. Attendance is free and you do not have to purchase the frags you make. So come join us, get your hands wet and work on propagating and conservation of corals.

We are expecting people from Razorback Reef, Wichita and DFW clubs. Would be great to see some of you there too.

The following is a list of corals that Steve Tyree of Reef Farmers will make available at the CRASE: forum.mycomas.com/foru...y.php?f=28

People who have CRASE tickets can sign up for a particular coral. If more people want the coral than there are frags available we will do a drawing of names for that frag. The list will close on Sunday Sept 22nd at midnight and names will be drawn the following Monday.

Sorry that link to the Tyree frags didn't work. Try this one: http://forum.mycomas.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28

We have made arrangements for hotel rooms if you wish to stay over night. We can keep the Tyree frags for you until you are ready to leave.

For questions on rooms, please email to [email protected]
