polarbear
ITS HERE AND ITS MINE!!!!!!!!! So for over the past year and a half, I have been gathering things that I needed to get a bigger tank up and running. Well I can finally say that the day has come and I am now the proud owner of a 90 gallon reef tank. I will say that it has a long ways to go before it looks like some of the others on here but I am happy to have it and will be building it up slowly. Like I said the tank is 90 gallons. I have a 55 gallon tank that I converted into a refugium. The refugium is located on the other side of the wall from where the tank is. I drilled 2 holes through the wall and placed the refugium in the storage room under the stairs. I have turned it into a fish room where I can store all of my stuff. It has helped cut down on the noise so that I can enjoy the view of the tank instead of hearing it all of the time. For lighting I am running 8 T5 lights along with 1 T12 super actinic buld that I use for night viewing. I am running a Berline protien skimmer at this time. It seems to be working just fine and is already starting to pull out the gunk. The tank has a 1 inch drain with a 1/2 inch return. Im using a filter sock to help catch any large debre and am running a quite one 4000 for the return pump. Currently I have 3 Koralias running on the tank which I hope to upgrade to a Tunze nano wavemaker (so if you know of anyone who has one they are selling please let me know). Im not sure as to how much live rock I have but my plans are to add more via the Aquamag rocks that I saw on an episode of mrsaltwatertanktv. I love the way the aquamags look and how you can add them to pretty much anywhere in the tank. My original plan was to start a build thread to show my progress but it didnt work out for me so I just going to share a lot of photos with you guys and gals. I do want to say thank you to everyone who has helped me get this far either by giving me great advice or by helping me start over with new corals when I lost most of mine. I am so hapy to have my dream tank up and running and look forward to the years of enjoyment (even if it does cost me an arm and a leg).
