JamesL Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Won't the big existing male change to female now, and the new one stay a male? Quote
FragsandMore Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 actually, you are close James, the existing male will indeed become female, and the juv. baby, will slowly become male clowns start out life as an undetermined gender, and switch accordingly from neither to male, and if necessary ultimately to female Quote
Derek Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Yep, I was just about to say that it'd be best to get a smaller specimen than the one you have. I had to do that with a clown pair in the past. It is kind of a risk but the younger the new fish is the better because if the new one is female and the original is already turning female then there is no going back. You have two females then.
