Myvirtue Posted February 13, 2011 Share Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) I bought the Reef Octopus SUPER SRO 3000INT In-Sump Protein Skimmer PS-OCT-SRO-3000INT from aquacave and recieved it yesterday. I installed it by directions and had it in 10inches of water. when i started it up everything seemed fine and i was able to adjust the gate valve to a setting that looked good. I also noticed the skimmer sounds like a bear roaring in a cave which is kinda annoying. Im thinking it needs to break in. When i got home 8 hrs later, it was over skimming and filling the container with water within seconds. So i took the air hose off and it looked clear. My gate valve is all the way open and its still overfilling within seconds. I also change the height and now its in 7 1/2 inches of water. I let it run overnight hoping it would correct itself but it hasnt. Im getting upset with it and im ready to take it out and put back my old skimmer. Need help!
