barderer Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Has anyone ever used a IV like setup like this to dose? http://www.ameds.com/entriflushtm-pump-set-bag-1000-ml-each.html?&extcref=ACSEBIZR001&zmam=77902454&zmas=2&zmac=45&zmap=KND8884773642 These are nice and CHEAP, I wonder if they come with the flow control knob etc. Quote
+Eckreef Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 These kinds of bags are used for tube feeding and not IV fluids. The tubing is rigid except for a 6 inch section that is soft and designed to go in a "roller" style pump similar to the BRS peristaltic pumps. These do not come with a flow regulator and may be difficult to fine tune the flow. Quote
+Hydro Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I have one of those restrictors from and IV bag that I snagged from a hospital years ago. I haven't tried to use it for dosing but I don't think it will work unless whatever you are dosing doesn't clump or even have small flakes because it will clog it up. I've tried taking a gallon of RO water, mixing supplements in it, and then trying to drip it in my sump over a few hours using flexible 1/4" tubing by tying a knot in it. Even at a fast drip it would clog up in just a few minutes. Quote
barderer Posted February 4, 2011 Author Posted February 4, 2011 Any other ideas for a device that can create a very controlled slow slow drip? Quote
