Elizzy
So I thought it would be a great idea to put some of the salt creep back in my tank. Unfortunately, though I didn't see it, I think a flake of it must've landed on one of my mushrooms. It has a little burned spot today. What do you do when you notice a bad spot on your coral? Grab a carving knife or just let it be? So bummed about this. Lesson learned, of course. -Elizzy
mFrame
Let it be, I seriously doubt that any real damage was done. Mushrooms are incredibly tough.
Robb in Austin
Yeah, probably wont hurt it long term. But, to address your idea. Remember that salt doesn't evaporate, only the water, so you run the risk of inadvertently raising your SG by doing that. I just try to clean it up from time to time with a wet rag. If some falls in I don't worry about it, but I don't add it intentionally.
+Melissa
I accidently knocked some off our light into my tank, right over my 4 headed hammer coral. I lost all of them over a few days. I know they are more sensitive but still thought I would throw my 0.02 in. I hope it pulls through.
