absolut_racer
I am in the process of setting up a GEO 618 Calcium Reactor with a Milwaukee MA957 CO2 Regulator. Both the reactor and the regulator have bubble counters. Am I correct to assume that the one integrated with the regulator assembly is more accurate? Also, I purchased a CO2 reactor kit which came with an additional Azoo CO2 check valve and bubble counter liquid. The Milwaukee manual recommends filling the counter with water. Would there be any benefit to using the bubble counter liquid? The reactor has tubing with a check valve in between the solenoid and the bubble counter. Is there anywhere else I should install this additional check valve? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
jestep
I use the 957 on my planted FW tank so I can only answer #2. Definitely use bubble counter oil if you have it. If you use water it slowly gets pulled through with the CO2 and you need to replace it every few weeks. I have been using olive oil in mine without any problems and the level hasn't gone down in over a year now. On the olive oil note, I have no idea if CO2 + olive oil makes any sort of toxic or carcinogenic compounds, so I would use an approved bubble counter oil. It's also a little more viscous than desired. I didn't have any bubble counter oil and was sick of refilling, so olive oil seemed the safest route.
