August
Ok so I have read what the differences are between the males and females... but havent seen any pictures... I picked up a Madarin that I was told was a male... but I dont really think it is, it doesnt have the long dorsal fin... it has 2 fins but the front one doesnt look all long like all the pics of the males I have seen... anyone have any GOOD pictures of the difference... I cant seem to get a good picture of it in my tank but can compare what I am looking at to pics... Thanks in Advance!!!
Toxiq Reef
The male has a single spine that's substantially longer in the front of the dorsal

Tavio
Is this the spotter mandarin you got from me? If I remember correctly that was a female.
Derry
If you're trying to acquire a pair, you've got the harder half covered - it took me about six weeks to finally find a female, whereas the males are much more readily available.
