ok, so i have a nano remora skimmer and i had to get a maxijet 600 separately. im a little confused to. how do i make the maxijet work for a skimmer? i added the piece with the 1/4" tubing fitting on it to adjust the air intake, but instead of sucking in air, it spits out water. im just a tad irritated because i thought i knew what i was doing

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

yeah, its on the out take, but thats the only way the fitting will go on there. its weird. i found a user manual for the remora nano and it said if i am using a maxi jet 1200 (hopefully i can use the 600 instead. i would think it is ok since its the same pump, just not as powerful) than i just submerge the pump completely and dont use the airline tubing, just let it all be submerged. that doesnt really make sense because where is the oxygen coming in? but it seems to be making bubbles, so ill see what happens within the next couple days.

Ok I wanted to check before I jumped in. I'm totally unfamiliar with this piece of 1/4 tubing you mention. I checked the Aqua C site and they don't mention it either. My old Remora was what they coined "spray injection". It had no tubes before any pump nor any parts to adjust other than the cup height. The air is forced into the mix at the second glued 90 elbow. There was a hole drilled through it and it would suck in air through a venturi and mix on the way to the chamber. It may be different with the Nano.

+1 for the Spray injection- I had the same HOB skimmer and it worked really good after it broke in. It took about a week then started really making froth. The only complaint I had about it was the spaying sound was louder then I liked, so I muffled it with a folded paper towel.
