don duncan
my dc8 keeps tripping breaker. I disconnected everything, removed it and tried it in a different outlet. Still tripped the breaker with nothing on it. anyone had this problem, if so how did you fix it? Has a white button that looks like a fuse, but for the life of me I can figure out how to remove it without destroying the unit
Robb in Austin
Post on RC, probably get a response. Isnt there a sponsor forum for them too?
+Eckreef
There is a Neptune sponsor forum on RC that is very helpful
medi
I do know they are fuse protected, but I've never had to change the fuse so I'm not sure how to remove it. I thought you could just unscrew the white cap, but it sounds like you probably tried that. I know RC does have a sponsor thread and are usually very quick with responses. teg
that white button is probably a "breaker"/fuse itself (most likely not those replaceable fuse), much like the one you see at the bottom of garbage disposal under your sink. The short might be from the salt water creep/residue inside the plugs.
Timfish
If it's tripping the circuit breaker the white button fuse or breaker on the dc8 is good or not blown. My guess is Teg is right salt has gotten into it somehow.
