Daisy82
So I've had a pair of Ocellaris clownfish and a GBTA for the last year. and the clowns have not even gone near the nem. Now, all of a sudden, the male is all over the anemone! The weird thing is that he's sucking on the tentacles like a hungry puppy. Has anybody seen this before? It's pretty funny looking.... Robb in Austin
I've not seen it but have heard about it before. My understanding is that it's a way for them to get acclimated to the nem, kinda like when they rub all up on it.
offroadodge
yes thats true Robb, when i hd my other tank i had a purple tipped seabae and my clowns would suck on the tenacles kinda a way for them to relax and rest there muscles i thought. Either way its cool to see.
+Lamont
My pair of clowns wont go near my anemone either! When I put them in my tank I had a Saddleback clown in there and he would always suck on the tentacles of the anemone. My clown pair wont leave my Duncans alone. That pisses me off because they wont allow the Duncans to open all the way up. They also suck on the tentacles of the Duncans too.
Daisy82
they didn't show any interest until the anemone moved itself to an area that the clowns are territorial of - maybe a factor?
mFrame
they didn't show any interest until the anemone moved itself to an area that the clowns are territorial of - maybe a factor? It's kind of like if a comfy couch moved itself into your living room one day. I'm sure you'd think, "Hey, where did this couch come from? Well, as long as it's here, I may as well sit on it...."
