Crabs Diet?

I picked up some Red dragons breath(macro algae) and was wondering if Scarlet or Blue legged hermits eat it. I woke up this morning and saw a hermit hanging onto a limb. I cold not tell if it was eating it or just hanging on. I watched it for a while and saw that it was constantly moving. So I considered that a good sign. most of my hermit will stay in one place if they are eating. But i dont know what goes on when the lights are off. I've been watching it throughout the day and haven't seen any more hermit messing with it. So I am reaching out to the smart people of ARC for help and knowledge! Thanks in advanced.

That's a good question! As long as I've been keeping slatwater I don't know if I've ever paid attention to see if they do. My guess though is they don't.

I've never seen a hermit eat a macro. They will climb all over things (rocks, algae, gorgonians, tunicates, the back wall, etc.) but I've never seen them eat most of it. They're probably after the particulate it collects and the fact that it's a new place to go.
