Can you have to much rock?

Can you have too much rock in your tank?

The only thing I can think of is if you have so much rock that it starts to impede the water flow around the tank this could cause problems with Nitrates and algae as the detritus is not moving around. Also, I would think not properly stacking the rock (leaving room for water to flow around) could cause the same thing.

Well I was thinking about my anemone. He looks like he wants to expand but can their be too much rock for the anemone.

I'd have to say no. If you can provide enough current for Nitrates not to build up, then I think you're good. Also, if you're not keeping fish that need a large amount of swimming room, then you're good.

No I've only got 2 fish a clarkii and a pipe fish. But I was thinking that the anemone needed more room.

Maybe you need to shift your rock some to give him that space where he is? Do you have a pic?

You could try giving him more space, but if he really doesn't like it then he will move on his own. A lot of nems like cracks and crevices too because of the extra protection they can provide, so long as they can get their tentacles into the main water column.

Well he moved more to the front of the tank were it has more room. And I can't clean my class. Well also because my clown attacks my glass cleaner when I put it close to the anemone.
