lost in atx Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I have a no longer made CurrentUSA ballast die today. Should I attempt repairs at a place like Mr. Wizard or suck it up and get a new light kit? advice, please. Quote
joshman1204 Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I would go for the new light but I really dont know anything about repairing a ballast I just always use equipment failures as a reason to upgrade. Quote
JimD Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 You could open it up and see if theres anything obviously wrong, like a blown resistor or capacitor, theyre easily replaced. Might check the obvious first like a bad fuse. Sometimes they can be easy to repair, other times not so much. Might be worth the time to open it up though if youre comfortable with that. I found this, it might help. http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=CurrentUSA+ballast&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=PeW7S8jQD4Ky9QSz9aX5Bw&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBcQzAMwAA Quote
