Will
what type of paint do i use to paint the pvc that is going in my tank? will rustoleum work?
reefman
Krylon Fusion is used to paint PVC. However, I still would not paint ANY PVC (i.e immersed in salt water)that would come in to contact with salt water, much less "inside" the tank. Will
good to know, can you buy black pvc?
DaJMasta
Schedule 80 PVC (normal white is schedule 40) comes in a medium gray - I've used it and it's definitely an improvement over white in your tank - but I don't know about all black. That being said, lawn watering PVC equipment is all in black, if you can find an equivalent part in there, you may be in luck. My guess is a rubber coating style paint (not latex, but same idea) could be useful, and any paint would adhere better with a little sanding. I wouldn't spray the stuff in the tank either, but I'm not convinced it's impossible to paint it successfully with something.
Chrispar
I used Krylon fusion on the wall of my nano that separates everything and it is running fine, no apparent damage to anything at this point.
chrisfowler99
You can also actually find grey Schedule 40 PVC online...though it's somewhat tricky to find and I have no idea if it's worth the price.
muddybluewater
I have painted PVC in my tank. Krylon fusion paint it has stayed on very well and is not a problem at all.
afgun
Savko (and probably other companies) sell some select black PVC components... pipe and basic fittings. Not sure if local places like ryan-herrco sell black PVC or not.
+KeeperOfTheZoo
I painted a PVC overflow with krylon fusion, doesn't seem to have hurt anything in almost 6 months of use. The paint did rub off where I had rocks resting on the overflow. That was a 'duh' move on my point though.
+Eckreef
+1 on Krylon fusion. Let it cure for 24 hours before placing in tank. I painted all my PVC including the overflows and have had no problems in 6 months. Many users have posted using it without problems on Reef Central.
