I've got a 55 short (30L X 18W X 24H) with a 20gallon sump. I'm using a mag 9.5 with split return, a koralia 2 and one koralia 3 for circulation in the tank. I think it's a good amount for me but as my tank is deep it takes a little more for the circulation to stay good towards the bottom. I think your probably fine with the mag 5 but should maybe go with the koralias or better for the powerheads.

I'm thinking of starting a diy canopy and may add a halide to my existing light. what are the dimensions of the reflector and is it easily mounted to a canopy?

I have a large ghost knife fish (very cool looking kinda like an eel). It's about 6-8" long and needs a bigger home. 100g would be perfect for him. willing to take a trade for some reef stuff or maybe $20

I've read, I think on wetwebmedia that copepods start off nearly microscopic so they can travel through pumps no problem... only the adults are at risk. This makes sense to me as impellers don't actually make contact with the housing of the pump. I'm sure you may lose some but with that much room to grow I wouldn't worry. I'm curious about your algae scrubber, I'v been thinking of ways to fit one in a 20g sump.
