guilt trip...!? I just knew your secret-secret email addy!

  2. Thought I would give an update. The wrasse never took to the black worms. I tried a few days per week with them. My other fish loved them, I however, was not too fond of the whole idea. After three weeks of eating pods and picking at rocks, she took her first frozen food today. In case anyone else is runs into a similar issue, I finally got her to eat a mix of Mysis, cyclopeeze and spirulina completely soaked in garlic extreme. I will warn anyone who has not used the garlic - your entire house will smell like it. It was well worth getting this beautiful girl to eat. Just another lesson in 'research before you buy.'
  3. No, I can't get you an iPad before it launches.

    Hi There!

You are a brave man. or just insane.
  5. I picked it up today, but she is only out in the morning, so hopefully I can get her eating first thing tomorrow. I will pick up some black worms later in the week if she still isn't eating. I've heard they can't resist them.
  6. Mine came out first thing yesterday morning. Hopefully she will do well. I am waiting to see her eat.
  7. Well, I let her out in my tank. She swam around and explored a bit, then buried herself in he sand for the night. Fingers crossed, she comes out in the morning.
  8. I just started researching my evenings impulse buy, (yes, I know better) and I am having an 'Oh, Crap' moment. My pretty fish is difficult at best. So I am turning to my fellow reefers and hoping someone has advice for me. (Other than to quit impulse buying.) Has anyone kept a black leopard wrasse successfully? If so, what did you do special. Thanks!

    Want: Xenia

I can frag mine if you would like some. It is pulsing xenia. Just let me know.
  11. I had heard of mushrooms eating clowns, but they were always talking about single mushrooms that were 1 ft or larger in diameter. Most of the mushrooms in the trade, simply don't get that large. The species to be wary of is the elephant ear, which is a fish eater by nature, and will not hesitate to have your clown as breakfast.
  12. Where's my Aggie sweatshirt! I feel out numbered! I suppose I will have to root for UT, even if it borders on blasphemy! My mother did pay for my tuition even though she was a longhorn.
  13. Be careful with rattlesnakes. My cat lost his tail to one. He got bit, and was such a macho kitty that he didn't complain a bit, so we didn't see it right away. A few days later his tail lost it's fur and turned green. The vet had to amputate. It was really funny to watch him the first few weeks without his tail. He seemed drunk since he couldn't use his tail to balance! That's when he and his sister became house cats.
  14. Sometimes it takes a day, where stress and circumstances overwhelm, to realize how blessed we truly are. The outpouring of support, and offers of temporary homes for my tank inhabitants, were both genuine and frequent, in the past week. It is rare to find a community willing to inconvenience themselves in order to assist another. ARC does it on a regular basis. From tank moves, rehoming, advice, group buys and lending equipment, ARC members are always supporting each other. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone involved with this fantastic group. Four members I really must call out and thank are: Dave and Robin - for both their support, and humor. Mark - for always offering advice, and calming me when I worry too much about the critters in my care. Laura - for being a wonderful caring individual, and helping me with everything last week. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holidays, in whatever way you celebrate! Carrie
  15. Is it better to add to a HOB refugium or direct into the display?
  16. Unfortunately, the stress from the changing environment was too much for my Foxface Rabbitfish. RIP Rotten Banana. Your awesome personality brightened my tank for the past year! I unplugged the Koralia for the day until I can figure out how best to set it up without causing too much stress on my fish. I also have a 650 GPH powerhead for water movement and another 500 GPH pump attached to my skimmer.
  17. I have a 75 gallon, and just installed a Koralia 4 (1200 gph.) It seams like too much flow. How much is too much? And should I turn it off at night? Carrie
  18. I already have problems concentrating at work with ARC and looking for new corals... I would never get anything done if I was allowed to have a tank here!
  19. I would like to try an SPS if it would be OK under T5s. Either Pink Jade or Red Digi? What do you think? Carrie
  20. If anyone is interested, I have two green chromis that I would like to give away to a good home. They are getting bullied in my tank, and I am afraid they will not survive much longer if I leave them. One is two inches and the second is one inch. Both have been in my tank 8 months, but the addition of my pygmy angel has upset the balance of power.
  21. Chris and I are both newbies to reefing, and we will be there.
