What wrasse is that in the picture?
-
He is slowly turning to an SPS guru. Adding the Emperor was the first step Soon all he will be left with is sticks.

Awesome Ty! Leopard wrasses are epic! I have 4 leopards myself. I love them and have never had a problem with them.
-
did they dose the nitrates directly into the biopellet reactor?
-
Sweet that is good news! Interesting concept of dosing nitrates to reduce phosphates. I am going to dig a little bit on that while I am sitting here bored at work
-
Well I hope everything goes well.
My $0.02 on the biopellets thing:
Slowly reduce how much you use GFO and Biopellets and add Macro algaes to compensate.
Stay away from caulerpa.
Get some Gracilia Hyia (Red Dragon), Halymenia (Dragon's Breath), Botryocladia (Red grape), and any other non-green macro algaes. Or if you have a 6in sandbed in your sump, seagrasses. http://www.live-plants.com/ great place to pick up macro algaes.

So what dosage are you using? Are you using interceptor or sentinel? Does it matter? If a man could get his hands on it regularly what dilution would you use it for dipping?
I used Interceptor. But Sentinel works as well as it has prazzi pro in it. The dosage I would use for a dip would be 4 mg dissolved in 1 gallon of salt water.

I have found milbemycin oxime good for killing pretty much any unwanted pest Bristle worms, flatworms, red bugs, neudis.
If I could get the stuff more regularly I would include it in my dip regiment.
-
Oh no, you said the "A" word!

break out the milbemycin oxime

It's a limeade! Pshh... how insulting!

NEVER confuse lemon vs limes!
But on a more serious note: Awesome looking tank! And some of those new sps are pretty sweet.

You just have to wait for someone to flip a large tank for a good deal

that Midas Blenny in the MSC is awesome!
-
a 1.5hp chiller would work for about 500-3000g reef or up to a 400g Cold water reef.

That's a red planet, not a Millie btw Ty. I misidentified. PE was so crazy I thought it was a rose Millie !
You've officially failed out of my SPS identification class sir!

HAHAHAHA I don't think I have ever seen a rose millie table But ORA red planet is a must have for every SPS tank.
Also, Red planet is a acropora hyacinthus if you were curious.

that's awesome!!

I pity the fool that derailed this tank thread

If you have lots of softies and you want to kill them off you can dip the rocks in a flukes tab solution. That will kill off 90% of all softies. The active ingredient in flukes tabs is Mebendazole. If you have any old flukes tabs laying arround.
Other option is Panacur and Safe-Guard. they are pet wormers.
This will kill leathers, anthelia, sympodium, kenya tree, cloves, the nasty gold polys, and more.
Its zoa and sps safe. Not sure about LPS. I have never dipped a rock with lps on it. Other people have claimed its fine for LPS I just have never tried.
Here is an article on it: http://maxdraco.wordpress.com/2013/03/14/fenbendazole-eliminate-invasive-soft-corals-blue-cloves-polyps-xenia-aiptasia-hydriods-etc/
