Say I have a frag on a plug or a small piece of LR, and I want to glue it to the big rock in the tank which can't be taken out easily. Does the underwater epoxy work? what's the best way to do it?
Thanks!
-
Yes 2. One small about 4" for $30 and one large about 10" $50.
Great, please let me know when is the good time to stop by. I'm free every evening after work.
Thanks,
John

Thanks,
John

Congratulations! My high school classmate went to Wuhan University and it's a great place to live and study. I'd hook you up with her but lost contact a couple of years ago . Anyway, if it's your first time going to China and like to get some general information, I'd be glad to help you out. I'm from Beijing originally and am going back in August for the Olympics.

I recently upgraded my tank and got some extra live rock that I don't need. These are aged live rock living in my fuge right now.
There are two large pieces about 12" long, and some smaller pieces that are somewhere between 4 to 8" and some have pom pom xenia.
I'm guessing it's about 30 lbs total, but could be anywhere between 20 and 50lb. $4/lb

For some stupid reason I can't edit my original post, so I'm going to have to post replies- sorry, I know it's a little messier.
Update on items:
LumenMax Reflector- 1 pending, 3 still completely available
5kv Mogul Socket Assembly w/15ft Lamp Cord- 1 pending, 3 still completely available
Aquacontroller Jr. combo pack- sale pending, will take backup offers
Ranco single stage temperature controller- sale pending, will take backup offers
Tunze Osmolator- sale pending, will take backup offers
Tunze Switched socket outlet- Sale pending
I'm interested in one of the BTA if it's still available. What color is it? How big? do you think it's big enough to host a pair of clowns? It'll be great if you could send me a picture. [email protected]
Thanks.

so if upgrading the pump is not an option i need to make the overflow utube smaller in diameter?
im thinking some teflon tape and tape up 30% of the intake end of the tube?
I don't think it'll work if you only make the intake end smaller; the whole utube needs to be thinner in my opinion. The idea is that the water will flow fast enough through the utube so that it'll have enough force to carry the micro bubbles all the way through and out of the utube instead of allowing them to remain and accumilate in the tube.
-
I think it is exactly opposite. The mag350 isn't providing enough flow and allowing air to collect. It may need to be cleaned.
I hope someone else chimes in on this because I could be wrong.
I agree. I had the exact same problem with my 50G a while back, and I had to suck out that little air bubble every couple of days from the u-tube before the siphon breaks. After I changed to a stronger return pump the problem was solved.

I would like some live rock if you can beat LFS prices. also some used powerheads and HO lighting for a 18 gal(havnt measured yet). Also some interesting frags if you have some.
I just finished remodeling my tank and have some extra. PM sent.

Sorry, John, the dottyback just sold. But he killed a small goby I bought a couple of months ago.
I didn't do any research before I bought the apple. A LFS sold it to me and told me nothing about it (not any LFS that posts here). I have little bottles of filter food that I mix with water and pour in the tank every 3 days or so, and the apple keeps it's feelers out eating and seems to be happy. I panicked after I bought it and THEN did my research, but it's really never caused any problems. I've had it since last spring or summer.
After a little more research, I've decided to pass on the sea apple this time, hopefully someone with more experience will pick him up.

Karen,
I'm interested in the neon dottyback, but since you mentioned that he may pick on smaller fish, I have a target mandarin that's about 1.5 inches. He's the smallest fish in my 55G and is my wife's favorite, so I wonder if they'll get along. What do you think?
The sea apple also seems interesting but I read that they're difficult to keep, espcially since I'm in the process of moving everything to a 75G. So maybe I shouldn't consider it at this time. What's your experience on keep it so far, how easy or hard is it?
Thanks,
John

Karen,
I'd like take the two Koralias and possibly the ATO, as I'm setting up a 75G to replace my current 55G.
Please let me know whenever they're ready to go.
Thanks,
John

I have some mushrooms I could trade you. Are they always that color or do they get darker? I'm wondering if it's only "bleached out" a little.
Do you have a picture of the mushrooms? what color are they? Thanks!

They've always been this color, and seem a little pinker under the blue light. The picture was taken under 10K PC light.

The link you provided asks me to log in. Will you please provide an updated link?
Sorry about that, here it is:

Hi, I have some extra pom pom xenia for trade if anybody is interested. I'm having problem attaching a picture, but you can see it here.
http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=20...7015&size=o
each stalk is about 1/2 inch in diameter and the head is about 1 to 2 inches while opened up.
I'd like to trade for any easy to keep corals that will do fine under 130W PC light (55G). Such as zoos, mushrooms, or anything colorful.
I could also use some small clean up crews, small snails, hermit crabs, or an emerald crab that eats bubble algae.
Or I could use some chaeto to replace my caulerpa.
I live in Cedar Park and should be available through the weekend.
Thanks,
John

Wow, this is great, do I need to register to participate or just show up? I won't have any frags to swap but will bring some cash for sure.

I've never had a puffer fish, but when I first bought my clown fish, it refused to eat for 4 days just like your tobi. then I read something online and bought a little bottle of garlic concentrate from LFS, dipped the frozen mysis/brine in it and the clown started to eat right away.
I kept using the garlic for a few more days to make sure it continues eating, when I stopped the dipping, the clown didn't notice a thing.
Not sure if this will help in your case, but thought I throw out the idea in case you want to give it a try.

Welcome John.
I've been part of this group for just a short while and I have learned so much. I also have made some good freinds. You should also try attend our next meeting. One thing I have learned from this group is the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
Thanks, I'll try my best to attend.

It grows fast for us. Gabriel also grows it like wild fire. Some tanks it doesn't move so quickly. If it makes a difference cheato doesn't grow for us very well. Who knows? Any way next time is fine.
Hi, I was the one who called you a little while ago today, please let me know if you still have some left, I'd love to have some of those.
Thanks.

Thanks, Gabriel, the BTA I got from you the other day is doing great in my tank, by the way.
The super clue gel I got from home depot or HEB comes in very small tubes, so I'd use at least 2 or 3 tubes of gel to cover the back of a 1 sq inch rock so that it has enough gel to push into the big rock. Is that how everybody does it? or something different? What if I want to glue the coral to the side of the big rock, not on top, is there a way to do it?
