My glass that I used to have to clean daily was pristine, needing only weekly cleaning. Awesome.

This sentence says it all I believe. I've been keeping sps for several years and have never only needed weekly glass cleanings. While at Reefcurrents last weekend a WWC employee(I can't recall his name) was lecturing about the store, specifically their main sps tank. Someone from the audience asked what was the nitrate level in the sps display and he went on to say every system is different...then he paused and said "if you are not having to clean your glass every day or every other day you are starving your sps. SPS need nutrients to thrive".

Sounds to me it was a drastic change is what did it. If it was gradual perhaps they could have coped with it better. My opinion is to continue to feed regularly, limit water changes, and run skimmer sparingly.

Good Luck. I'm sure your sps will bounce back.

  2. Selling a used 1 yr (original owner) Reefbrite blue led strip 30". All LED's are in working condition. It works great for frag swaps and/or for supplemental blue light. Asking price $100...no trades at this time.

Serious inquires only. First come first served. PayPal to hold. This retails at Aquarium Specialty where I purchased it from $200. I live in Kyle but can meet in south Austin if needed. Text me for faster reply

  3. This mini colony measures 4" across x 3". It's a tabling acro that I needed to frag due to space. It's completely healthy and likes lots of flow and light.

Accepting cash or Paypal. PayPal to hold. No trades at this time...unless u got a mini colony of purple monster?. First come first served. Text for faster reply. 210-834-3852 Roy

Actual pc is the large one on left of rack. Mother colony is pictured in full tank shot. Pickup in Kyle or could possibly meet in South ATX.

I also have two frags for $40 each. Can text pics of those on request.

  4. Have ur zoas only been affected since u started using the product? I have an SPS dominated tank and always had trouble with zoas/palys. They would always seem to shrink and die off. I attributed the tank being low in nutrients. Over the yrs I feed more, added fish, and cut down on water changes. Since then the zoas have bounced back. There is a fine line esp with trying to create a habitat for both species. It is possible...don't get me wrong.

  5. Light green wild colony. I have been trying to keep it shaded as it seems not to like a whole lot of light on the sand bed. I have never anchored it to my live rock but rather propped it up on the substrate.

    It's about 5x5".
