  4. It has been a while since I’ve done any updates it’s also been a while since I’ve had any actual progress until recently. Let me just drop this here for now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. Thanks Jolt for the feedback.. After I read this I realized that I need to rethink this all together as I am not really needing the "Flow" as much as I was looking to investigate how to take a RO to a reservoir in the attic cut off with a solenoid then I can auto fill a ATO reservoir under the tank and once a week dump a large amount of water into a 25g tank under the tank to mix for CWC using a Smart AWC from Aqua... I will think more on that later.. Basically a "Self Filling Auto Top Off Reservoir" that pulls from a 25g reservoir that can also be used as a quick dump to a 25g SW mix under then tank for CWC Thanks, Thomas
  8. So this has evolved quite a bit since my last post.. I have a stand / fuge / lights / chiller / overflow / QT Tank with NO glass yet but I am leaning towards a 100 to 120 G 48L X 30 W X 20 tall custom tank Just a few questions... If you have done almost NO plumbing yet would you start with a FMM ( Flow Meter Monitoring ) or FMK Would you consider using the above FMK as a ATO Top off from a reservoir in the attic ? with an Optical sensor and Apex Solenoid ? If I have vent fans in the stand would you consider putting the Chiller in the stand and vent to the room ? or even through the wall on the left to the Attic?
  9. Thanks guys for the feedback Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. What would you guys put on the bottom of this? Plywood and stain it or some other waterproofing? A shower liner ? Composite decking and seal the cracks well ? Other? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Here is my collection of gear. I think I just need the tank and Genesis and I am about where I want to be Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I guess for 1400.00 48 L x 30 W x 16 to 20 deep is what I was looking at . I have 3 A360we lights and I am already over budget . I just want to be sure water changes and automatic and on auto pilot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Frame is way over built I know but I just didn't want to regret the base size and strength in case some day I wanted to go bigger Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I have not ordered the glass just yet. I like the shallow tanks and I am looking at a genesis water change system but I am running into limitations on the space . I have to have my salt and waste tanks under stand as well as fuge so I was thinking about putting a SCA 48 long rimless in the middle of that stand then on one side a chiller and the other a Quarantine tank. This would allow me to have a 80 display with a Quarantine tank on one side and use the genesis to pull from the fuge 1 gallon and dump to a QT tank then that overflows into a waste one gallon every day so so then only have to dump the waste tank once every 2 weeks or so. 15. Funniest part is I am intending on doing a 30 wide X ONLY 18 or 20 tall but just in case some day I guess I might need it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. It is... At 250lbs over all I took it off and i forgot about that in the garage Still need to install a board on it but here is an updated pic Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. It has been a while since the last update but look what just showed up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I am on vacation with the family so still a while before I get back to it but here are some pics of my lifereef that arrived before I left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hey I am preparing for a genesis system ( water change) RENEW system I will be installing a 25 gal R/O tank in the attic to feed the salinity tank as needed ( about once a month ) Waste is being stored due to the location and the fact my wife doesn't want me to cut multiple holes to drain outside See earlier post with pic of the opening / location The idea is that I can drop 25 gal to the salinity and mix then the renew water change system changes about 1 gallon a day over 30 days or every other day Takes 1 from sump and 1 from salinity then swaps the old sump to waste and new to sump Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Starting to dry fit the mix / waste station. The R/O will come in to the left tank and I will dump salt and mix. Waste from the genesis system will drop into the right tank and I will pump it out a window once a month Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks guys! Luckily placement is next to an A/C unit with condensation drain so adding a pan should be easy. Good call out. I have a water sensor in the A/C pan now tied to my blink / Smartthings home automation as well so adding another is easy. Working on plumbing the mix station and waist now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. CWC starting to put a few things in place. I have decided to put a 25 gal tank in the attic to hold the RO/DI water at all times. I will pipe this through the wall and down under the tank into the salinity mix tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Email sent to Gary for a quote thanks for the suggestion Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Doing some research on the Genesis Reef Systems and everyone that has one says it is awesome. My only problem is ... well ONE they are expensive after you add the Tanks for holding the water..... TWO on a 80 to 90 g Display tank I wanted to do about 3 gal a day 7 days a week so around 21g a week water change.. open questions or OPTIONS are ... Do I stack the RO/DI over Salinity over Waste in a cabinet to the right of the tank? RO/DI & Salinity ( 26 g each ) over a 30g Waste tank ( Put it on wheels ) Talk my wife into letting me drill a hole through and behind the cabinet to drain outside ( remove waste tank ) Leave the RO/DI in the garage on a shelf and "Pump" the RO up and over the dining into the Salinity once a week ( Still need an ATO RO/DI tank but could be much smaller near the tank ) Combination of 2 ( Remove the Waste tank ) and 3 Move the RO to the garage leaving only Salinity & smaller ATO near the tank costing me a bit more on another smaller ATO tank & a pump but saving a ton of room near and under the tank I am at a point where I am planning to purchase the tanks from Tank-Depot.com I have negotiated the price on the RO & Salinity for 200.00 shipped but not sure I want to pay another 240.00 for the 30g waste with fittings shipped vs just drill a whole and drain outside.. The "Grid" in the pic is a idea of the space around 4 to 5 inches deep that I was considering for the electrical Panel in the door Tank & Sump on the left RO/DI & Salinity on the right Waste on the bottom Internal "Wall" to the right of that then China hutch and exterior wall to the right of that. Am I just trying to put too much thought into this and stuff too much in one space or does this seem reasonable? What options do you think are best above ? Thanks,
  25. Thanks for tagging along @Bluemoon and thanks for your retrospective feedback. As for the Tank the options I am looking at are. Deep Blue 80 Rimless RR runs 660.00 shipped for free but I would want to do something different for the overflow all in like you mentioned untempered deepblue 80g and drilled for a ghost overflow from Synergy ( 16" ) is going to run me 750 or so .. and that is 16" Tall OR I could go with the Custom Aquariums.com Rimless 48L x 24D x 18T so a little taller and about 90gallon - H2Overflow Qty 1 ( Love to hear anyone who is using this because I can't find almost anything online outside of their site ) - Siphon Stopper Fittings Qty 2 - Drilled for above 3 holes for about 1000.00 shipped to the house. I was also looking at their H2Overflow Stealthbox but again I can't find much on it.. I have never drilled a tank before so... Do I go with the 90g from CustomAquariums.com with the H2Overflow and H2Overflow Stealthbox OR Deep Blue 80g and a Synergy overflow which ends up being 750.00 and work on my side to hope I don't mess it up.. Part of me wants to just go with the CustomAquariums.com option pay a little more but it comes to the house drilled and ready.. OR I can't remember the direct quote from Aquatek but it was a custom from Planet Aquarium which was basically 1k with an eshops ghost overflow 16 tall picked up from Aquatek Thanks again for the feedback all Thomas
