  1. I can't log in from work and just now got home for the night. I am in south austin and will have some time tomorrow to do the swap. Where are you located? Send a number and address and I'll give you a call tomorrow.

    Thanks!

  2. Are Ceriths the ones that go into the sand with the little thingy sticking up? If so then I can use some more of those also...they're pretty cool. I'll check the site and see what else I could use.

  3. That puffer is going to be so happy in that big tank

    Just let me know

Or maybe there are some members that are in south austin that wouldn't mind meeting at our house after we leave yours...anyone somewhat close to 35 and william cannon???

  4. I have been experimenting with home made live rock and have a bunch of, well, it’s basically base rock. It’s been curing in a saltwater bath for about 3 months and will not cause a ph spike. There is some algae growing on it any maybe some other microbiological life. I think there maybe even some coralline starting to grow. Most of the rocks have a purple tint to them.

You can also see my other homemade rock in my tank that is just banging with purple and red coralline.

I have to get rid of the stuff before I move in 25 days.

    I'll take this Michael!!!

  5. Hey all. I have the joyous task of moving at the end of the month and would like to borrow four 5 gallon containers, the kind that you use when getting your ro water.

Can anyone help out with that and possibly the move? I will be moving Thanksgiving weekend. Just think, you can tell the family that you have to help a guy move and then after helping me for 30 minutes you can run off to the sports bar and watch football for the rest of the day. See, I’m here for you.

    Michael

We can probably help, but would you be able to help us in January? :D) We've got buckets and the water containers...

  6. I can't help you lift that tank, but I'm available if there's anything I can help with.

Thanks Karen...we won't be setting it up until we move in January.

Craig, I'm going to try to find some neighbors this week to help. Maybe we can avoid you having to drive all the way down here.

  7. Thanks for the interest everyone... Dee is the proud new owner.

Anyone available this Saturday evening to help us move it?

Thanks Craig! It was nice meeting your family and fish tonight. I think this is great for what we'll be using it for right now.

  8. I would LOVE This...just saw and responded to your post on CL. I can't afford that much, but could offer a little more...maybe $300. I can give it all to you when I get my Christmas bonus. I know you don't know me, but I'm not a scammer LOL. I'm usually the one to get scammed unfortunately. PLEASE!!!!!

  9. Making faces after he eats

I bought a cleaner wrasse today...haven't seen him after the lights got out. I also got a butterfly...the guy said he was the safest butterfly if I wanted to give one a try...so I said what the hell. He sold me the two angels and they are doing great together. My Tang chased this guy around a bit, but he'll leave him alone...he did that to the last newbie also. I don't have a photo, but grabbed this one off the net.

  10. I found this little creature attached to my Goniopora shortly after I put it in my tank. I had no clue what this fuzzy thing was and it was only the size of the tip of my finger. Later I was surfing and found a photo of a Teddy Bear Crab. I assume that's what it is. I hadn't seen him in a long time since I plucked him from the coral. Last night after the lights went out, there he was messing with it. It did look like he took a piece of the coral from it's hole and took off with it to eat. He's now about the size of a quarter...pretty neat looking.

Does anyone know anything about them? I don't think he's leaving the tank...he's fast and blends in. I probably won't see him for months again.

  11. I love purple tangs! What store is that Karen? I tend to like those in "need"...reason why I do dog rescue.

My tang came with my first tank I bought on CL...he was beat up...fins are definitely not pretty, but he's healthy now. I love the little bugger...I try checking things out and he's right there in my face. When I move stuff around, he tries to pick the little hairs off my arms...little terd!

I just lost my Naso Tang...not sure why...about a week after a water change. Everything in the tank is perfect, but calcium was at 340...should have hurt him though. I was VERY upset. When I first got it, it would follow the other Tang around trying to make friends. Everyone would fluff their tail fins at him the first couple of days. I miss it :o(

I've attached a photo where you can see both my Angels together. Another the other is my PIA anenome that has cause my corals to be on 3/4 of the tank...it's lucky I like it.

  12. Joseph, I'm going to try to get $35 so I can get a piece of that first birdsnest. I've wanted one for a while and darn it, I'm getting one. Save one for me!!! I'd love one of everything, but I definitely can't afford it LOL.

  13. I just re-read this and realized you have 2 angels. I thought you could only have 1 angel per tank? (read this on another site that has real serious "alers" about it).

Yup...got them at the same time. The guy at the store said that they would be okay if I introduced them at the same time. The first couple of days they chased each other around a little, and every once in a while they will do it, but otherwise they have been great together. I've got a lot of rock work for them to hide and sleep in also. I don't think I'd risk adding another one in with them though :yahoo:) I don't get lucky like that often. Joseph has two of the same fish and his CB killed his Flame.

  14. If you are getting rid of them, my kids would gladly take them for their 85 gallon freshwater tank... We have been stocking their tank with "homeless" fish and so far have a bunch of guppies/mollies a few algea eaters and a pleco.. let me know.. Thanks in advance

I'll probably have a few that I can give you. I've had the tank for a bit and it never would clear up, so I decided I'd just get rid of it and better my chances of my husband letting me get a larger salt water tank. Saturday morning I turn on the light and it's crystal clear LOL. It looks nice now LOL. So...I'm going to hang on to it a little longer, but I know I'll end up taking it down...just a little indecisive right now. My electric blue crawfish and bichir fish are my faves and that's what is holding me back.

  15. Hope everyone had a good time at the meeting and then the sale tonight. I wanted to do both, but my boss was throwing a Halloween party...it was pretty much a must go. Not bad though...valet parking and golf cart ride down his driveway...chef preparing individual pasta plates...lots of good food. I wanted to make my first meeting though :D( Maybe next month.

  16. I'm thinking about emptying my fresh water tank. I've got a pearl gourami, yellow gourami, two pink kissing gourami's, a mollie, 1 rosy barb, four of the smaller redish tetra's, large albino placo, small chinese algae eater, a bichir about 7 inches long and a very cool electric blue crawfish. I don't remember how much the fish cost, but I'll take $10 for all of them and $15 for the crawfish. Other offers accepted. I'm going to keep the tank for now...may move my extra live rock/sand into it for storage until I can convince hubby I need a VERY large saltwater fish only tank.

Apparently I don't know how to spell or know what is in my tank

I also have these two yellow fish with black spots. Petsmart calls them African Spotted Leaf Fish. One of those long and narrow black and yellow striped fish, two of those silver catfish with the black spots on them, a dwarf blue gourami with a slightly red tail. I think that's it for real this time. I may just bring everyone to the fish store tomorrow for a credit. I'm going to miss them.

    :D

  17. I didn't know clams came in blue. :D

I didn't know they came in different colors other than blue until I started surfing sites that I can't buy from. I'd love to get a little 1-2 inch clam for my 3 gallon tank...just can't afford it.

  18. How on earth do you get the colors to come out so much? I take photos and everything looks white or just blah! And my tank is clear, but it's not that nice blue look and I've got that Coralife light with the 2 150W MH and 2 96W actinics...not fair :D( I want pretty pictures like yours!!!

  19. I've got a large chest freezer for sale if anyone knows of someone that hunts. It's older, but works great...about 4 feet long and at least 2 1/2 feet tall. I can fit at least two of me in it. I posted on CL also, but haven't had any hits. We're moving before the end of the year and I need it gone. Only asking $50...
