  1. Why does it matter how old they are? None I saw had green and yellow shag carpet, so they should still be good.
  2. i hesitate to post here, because as a noob this may not be as good as i think it is. but, instead of getting a frag kit i odered a 24 U.S. Military Field Medic Instrument Kit. It has two scalples, a few types of tweezers, some locking pliers, and more. i am not confident that the scissors will cut bony corals, so that may need to be added seperately. but it seems to have worked out well for me so far and costs less than $15.
  3. Back from the Dome with some laborers. clean that tank guys.

  4. For the last few days I've been having trouble attaching files to my forum posts. Some files upload fine, but when I try to add another i get "upload failed". The files have been *.jpg between 100K and 600K. I just tried to upload a picture and it wouldn't go up. I submitted the post then "editted" it and was able to upload the photo without a problem. Anyone else having this issue? Maybe people are just tired of my photos ? Thanks, Dennis
  5. sorry, wait...i should have said friend-in-law, like mother-in-law. i was describing the relationship, not the occupation.
  6. i have no idea on either count, actually. i've never even seen a porn review, so i'm not sure what publication you would even apply to. never seen "new your times give it four blushes" or anything on the back of a box.
  7. A friend in law reviewed porn in college. She really didn't need such an extensive collection, so she tipped pizza guys with it. Apparently they fought over her deliveries, too.
  8. you expect me to tip and share my charming personality!?! greedy....can't think how to finish that in a family friendly way...sorry. ok, $5 i can get behind, but surely someone is ordering a lot of pizza for a $10 tip. My typical order is in the $20 range, so $10 seems like it'd have to be there before I got off the phone . i like getting the inside scoop on tipping from the industry professionals. it is very handy.
  9. That's why I don't tip . Fortunately I like cold pizza and just order the day before. Of course I'm joking. Congratulations Dustin. lol...i was gunna say...geez what a jerk!....haha...these guys really do work hard...i mean im all for getting pissed of when service is not good but give credit when its due...lol...you should see me in a restaurant when theres a lazy waiter or waitress...i embarrass my wife all the time...thanks for the congrats Man Dustin, you're a tough customer. Glad you didn't come and sit in my section at the OG. Lol. My wife is the same way. Embarrasses me when we go out to eat because she's real rough on servers. Luckily I'm the one that tips and pays but I feel bad for those guys and gals. Funny thing though. In all my time waiting tables, the vast majority of guests who were super rude, insulting, and just generally unpleasant usually left the best tips. On the flip side, it seems like the nicer people are who like to engage in personalized conversation and are almost friend worthy, give the lousiest tips. Sometimes none at all. i'm not a jerk! well, i am, but not to the people that have my food out of sight for so long .
  10. nah, the other day i was in a restaurant and got bad service, which is rare for me. i mumbled "dang it, she's making me do math" because i actually had to figure the 15% instead of just throwing a decent amount of money at the table.

  12. Good luck with that. I have an uncle in law that recently started doing that. He seems happy with it.
  13. There's things moving in my tank.

  15. I've never seen him, so i don't know what color his stick is.
  16. I self employed do contract structural engineering for airplanes and helicopters. not the ones most of you fly on, though so no complaining about airline seating. i have done a Boeing 737 (what southwest airlines flies) that carries less than 30 passengers. needless to say, all the seats and beds had plenty of leg room. some of the showers seemed a bit cramped, though. My commute is awesome, brush teeth, get coffee cup, walk into office (<2 min.). i get to work any 80 hours of the week i want. Actually, we are a bit slow now, so it is staying closer to 50-60 hours. Good for hobbies (and forums), not so much for the bank account. But I love my job. Been doing it 15 years.
  17. thanks dapettit. i glanced at it last night and it seems really good. some is way over my head, but the "tips for POS cameras" will be appreciated when i get things to take pictures of.

Yep, but I doubt I will taste it as often now that I'm cycling it. :)

  19. my photo must have been eaten by the server difficulties.

  20. That's real engineering work, especially in semiconductor I definitely do not see semiconductor as a career choice now that I've been in it for a few years. Trying to break back into aviation at the moment. It's turning out to be much harder to get back into the game when you've been out of it for a while. Doing what? Avionics tech or design? I'm not sure how much you know of the aviation market in Austin. It's small, and a little slow now. but there may be some stuff around. Where have you been looking!
  21. sounds great, but at the risk of another dumb question...are there plastic ones or do you not have to worry about rust because they are high enough out of the water and don't get splashed? I use standard powdercoated black metal ones, I don't have a ton of sump splash so I am not worried about it...if you are worried...dip them in plastidip first thanks again capt. i don't know enough yet to know what to worry about and what not to worry about, so i am just worried .

thanks guys. looking forward to the help me build thread, too. but i am still having a leak issue. it is back to a slow drip now, so i may just let it ride for a bit.

i am not sure if anyone gets updates about comments, but i didn't realize people could comment on these until today.

  24. This is a cool thread. It is giving me plenty of ideas for my upcoming tank. Thanks all.
