For sale is a 12 gallon Nano tank. I think it's made by JBL, but not sure. Tank is 2-3 years old. Last year I cleaned it and re-caulked the entire aquarium with professional aquarium sealant. This tank has been running for several months without any maintenance. It has some algae growth and needs a cleaning. Although dirty, it's in good shape with good glass. It just needs some love. Tank has one PC bulb and two fans (which were upgraded). Also, comes with pump, live rock rubble, several live mushrooms, and a pvc frag shelf. I'll throw-in a timer for the lights as well, plus a nice tank cushion for the tank to sit on. This tank is small enough to where you won't need a stand for it. Price is $49 cash.

For Sale is a two year old BioCube 29 gallon tank with light and fan mod upgrade (3 PC bulbs total). Tank is complete and comes with Biocube black stand. This tank has been running without a crash for two years now. It's the most stable setup I've ever seen for sw. Generally, no dosing of calcium or buffer is needed but about once every week or two. Both tank and stand are in great condition! Here's a partial list of goodies included:

*50-70 lbs of live rock

* 2 Koralia Nano's

*established live sand

*Live rock rubble in bag in rear chamber

* LARGE red bubble-tip anemone

* 1 true percula clown (yes, Nemo)

* 1 large brittle sea star (beautiful and fully reef safe - not a fish eater)

* 2 different leathers

* large fungia plate

* 1 frogspawn or hammer (I forget which one)

* lots of white pulsing xenia (not really xenia, but people call it that)

* several different mushrooms

* lots of zoas

* cool green "coral" growing on back wall (I forget what it is)

* 2 different algae (chaeto and another one)

* 6-15 small-medium hermit crabs

* I probably have some goodies I can throw in as well

Price for everything is $499 for a quick sale. I probably have around 2K and countless hours into this tank. I'm moving soon and must sell. I can also take credit cards through Paypal if you pay 3% for fees.

I'm open for trades as long as they are hard tangible assets. ie gold, silver, guns, etc.

I think my bio-cube needs better/new fans. Any advice on replacing them with computer fans? Will it have a substantial effect on the temp?

Also, my hubby wants an 8 gallon bio-cube for his desk at work or something similar. In case he reads this I'll preface by saying MY two-29 gallons are technically his. For simplicity, let's just say this is basically his first tank. Because of the consolidation of the reef, is it terribly difficult as a first tank? I would imagine that something dying would foul everything up quite rapidly... would a sizable clean up crew help enough?

I just bought some upgraded fans for my 29g cube, too. The best ones I found in the 60mm size were the cheapest ones at Fry's...about $7 each. If I remember correctly the specs are 21+ cfm at 27 dbl. Every "quiet" fan I found just doesn't push enough air. I plan on installing these this weekend. You're welcome to pm me in a week or so, and I'll let you know what diffence they've made. My hunch is a one degree drop and double the evaporation.

As for the 8 gal cube, I would say it's not the best choice for a first tank especially away from home where it gets ignored on weekends. I would pay special attention to keeping salinity stable and smart choices on livestock / coral. The 14 gal Biocube may be a better choice. I've only been reefing for a year, so don't take any advice from me too seriously

I'm changing over to halides and will no longer have a need for this fixture. This was purchased less than a year ago from Hellolights.com via Kingfish Aquariums via Frederich I cannot find it listed at Hellolights (because their website sucks!), but I think it's this Tek Light or something very similar. Tek Lights It's a 4 bulb 48" T5 HO hood ready to plug-in. I will include between 4-8 bulbs with this fixture. I think I paid around $250+ for the hood, and $100-$200 for the bulbs. Asking price will probably be around $165 cash or maybe trade. I may ask more or less depending on what model fixture it is and how many bulbs I will include. Several bulbs are new or less than 2 months old. I will be ready to let go of this as early as middle of next week.

I wanted to list this now just in case someone was about to buy one of these new. Also, It's easier for me to cut-and-paste over to the MAAST website where people actually buy things

So, anyone interested?

In my endless pursuit of the perfect bulb combo for my tank, I've ended-up with some extra bulbs.

All bulbs are HO T5's 48" long. Here's what I have:

1 new T5 HO Blue (I don't remember the brand. This is a basic actinic I think)

1 used T5 HO Blue (same brand as above with 2 months of burn time at 8 hours a day)

1 used Geisemann Midday (6000k growth bulb with about 6 weeks burn time at 8 hours a day)

1 used Geisemann aquaBlue + (Geisemann's best bulb imo. Good growth and good looking light. 2-3 months burn at 8hr/day)

All four bulbs for only $40.00. I won't sell these individually, so please don't ask. If you want one you gotta take all four.

If you're looking at this thread or you PM me, please bump the thread.

I'll throw-in a red monti cap frag or a frag of xenia with the purchase of these bulbs.

I'm open to trades, too. Let me know what you have.

Thanks, folks. I'm sure he's lurking by now, but a brief update for all. Okay, the full (but condensed) story:

We were on the way out to move a tank in G-Town. He was turning and crossing 195 when a lady coming down the highway slammed into him. I got there as they were finishing cleaning up, and took him to the ER. After a few hours waiting, he finally got in and was seen. The official diagnosis was one broken rib, and maybe two more. (How ya like "maybe"s as official from a doctor?!) Anyway, he was released at around 4, with nothing but pain meds and "good luck" as he painfully recovers for the next 4-6 weeks.

After blowing-off the job in Georetown, he went to Joy on I-35 to do "lunch". He made his way to the intersection of Hwy 195 where he at first thought he saw a lady coming down the highway...but, this was no lady...it was a pack of hot teen midgets doing a fundraiser carwash! He lost control of his truck and hit a parked Mazda Miata with two gay men inside (but it turns out they weren't gay, they were English). There's more to the story, but you get the gist.

Btw, I got dibs on any leftover pain meds.

UPDATE:

I think I did something really dumb on the last zoa bath. I don't remember having used RO water! I think I may have used tap water This would explain their slow recovery.

My large palys have no open polyps today. A couple of newer large frags show signs of disease. It's looking like I'll probably lose the whole tank.

Meanwhile, my 29g cube is still unaffected. I'm setting-up a true quarantine tank in a 12g nano that should be ready for water tomorrow.

How much Iodine did you use?

I used Tropic Marin's "Coral Cure" at the recommended dosage.

I've been hearing rumors of zoa die-off for several months now. Unfortunately, within the last couple of weeks, I've lost most of my zoas and palys in my 75g

reef tank. Symptoms usually start with smaller opening of the polyps followed by rapid death.

I have a frag of 20 large palys that seemed substantially smaller in size for a couple of days. Within a 12 hour period, they all closed-up, and their were small white dots visible all over the polyps. I do not notice these white dots on most of my zoanthids, maybe because of their smaller size. This frag looked dead enough to warrant throwing it away, but I didn't...see comments below.

To save my remaining zoas, I've been giving them a 2 minute RO bath with iodine. I had previously done a 15 minute bath with SW and iodine to much of my collection without any noticeable positive results. I dipped the above mentioned palys in RO for 2 minutes, and within 36 hours I now have 3 open polyps

I'd like to add that 2 minutes doesn't seem to kill the zoas (or mushrooms that were attached to some rocks. I dipped a ric and a couple of red shrooms). It certainly will piss-off what ever you dip, though...so be warned. Going over 2 minutes is risky. I bathed a couple of dying colonies for 2 1/2 minutes, and saw a definite difference in reaction. I don't know if their is a benifit to longer bath times. Some people have recommended bathing for as long as 5 minutes.

Please post your experiences and suggestions (or at least bump this thread )

She'll eat anything small enough to fit in her mouth wether that be frozen food, flake, or pellet.

The problem doesn't seem to be that she's picky, it's that she's too dumb and slow to properly feed herself.

Honestly, she makes her tank mate (a percula clown) look like a genius. She is cute, though.
