My son will be studying marine biology or ecology at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and we visited the campus last weekend. Of course we went searching for marine animals and shells...we came away with a few lightning whelk shells that were empty, until we got home and the next day realized all 3 had hermit crabs in them! My wife insisted we go buy them a tank immediately, so now we are set up with a 20 gallon long saltwater tank...so I guess my hiatus is over lol! But I'm definately keeping things small and simple this time.
The tank is fresh so not much to look at right now, but the crabs are happy!- 3

If anyone has a piece of dry rock they wouldn't mind donating to my new tank, I'd appreciate it!

i;m hoping some do walk, so i can split that rock up and spread em out but they do look awesome as a carpet like this.
Oh ok! Well just be careful, they can multiply a little fast under certain water parameters, seems like mostly when lots of nutrients are available

Looking good! My clowns loved rolling in them. Just keep an eye on them so they don't walk somewhere you don't want them
Those candy canes should puff up more in a day or so as well, they should fill to the point where there's no spaces between them, if they don't then you might want to adjust their position
-
Btw I'm pretty sure they are rhodactis shrooms
-
By the way, those candy canes love mysis! A few will put out tentacles every night, once you feed them usually more come out from others

I work at an event production company as a graphic designer, cameraman, playback operator, audio engineer, etc.
Sometimes we get carried away with the fog machine (not me in pic:
Sometimes we might get to do something cool for F1, or ride in an elevator with an Aston Martin, or work with people like David Robinson
But a lot of times I am just staring at knobs and screens

I worked in event production in college, earned my bachelor of fine arts (majoring in graphic design). After getting out of college I got a job as a junior art director at a design firm in San Antonio. I was fired in 3 weeks after what I felt was not much of a chance to get into a groove. I then moved to Dallas with a job as an art director for an insurance company.
I spent 18 months there feeling like the job was torture. I then moved to the Austin area after getting a job at an event production company which is where I still work, 6 years later. I still enjoy what I do and where I work. I mostly work on PowerPoint and keynote presentations, although I do get the occasional work that's a little more creative. However I also wear the hats of: audio engineer, video director, cameraman, and scenic carpenter.
My favorite type of design is logo design, which is why I decided to redesign the ARC logo shortly after joining the forum. I'm glad my skills can be put to use in a great community.

Im fixing to build a kalk reactor and use pickling lime. My dkh is low and hard to maintain even with water changes so I need the extra boost along with the Ca. Just need to find some 4" acrylic locally.
Regal plastics...very reasonable prices, $25 minimum

I tend to over build things and your theory is sound. That's how I would do it as well.
