  1. I am selling a large adult Vlamingi Tang. He is about 6-7 inches long. We have had him for about 4 years now, and is in very good condition. Eats pellets, algae sheets, and frozen foods like a pig. He has outgrown his current tank. Asking $175. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks for looking.

  2. Tank is SOLD. Tank Dimensions are 96"x24"x24". Included in sale is a very solid custom oak stand and canopy. I bought this tank used less than a year ago and intended to set it up. Unfortunately, I am moving and have to part with the setup. Tank has some scratches that vary in severity, but nothing too deep that cannot be polished out. I purchased a Novus acrylic polishing kit with the intent to redo the tank, but never ended up doing it. I am throwing this in with the sale of the tank as well.

The guy I bought the tank from had 16 VHO T12 lamps installed in the canopy run from 16 individual Work Horse ballasts mounted on top of the canopy. All these go with the tank as well.

Tank sits about 40" high on the stand. There are 3 sets of double doors on the front of the stand which allows for fairly easy access to equipment.

Tank was plumbed originally with 4 holes drilled in the bottom of the tank in the overflow box. It was used for a single drain and return as well as a closed loop system. The closed loop system was plumbed for two intake lines in the side of the overflow with two return lines in the side of the overflow box. You could replumb the system to do the same or create a second drain and return line from a sump if you prefer. I leak tested the tank before I removed the bulkheads for moving with absolutely no leaks. I have since removed the bulkheads to move the tank and have not reinstalled them. I would recommend new bulkheads to ensure a proper seal. The overflow box and the back of the tank are done in black acrylic.

The pictures are not great but show the tank, stand, canopy, and lights. The canopy is currently being stored backwards on the tank so it may look a little funny but it gives you an idea of what it all looks like. It is currently being stored in my garage and is hard to get good photos of.

Please let me know if you are interested in taking a look at the setup or have any questions. Thanks for looking.

  3. Welcome. Great to have a college football fan on the board (I'm assuming). KK steals my heart.

Absolutely, I am a huge college football fan. Can't wait to see what Kingsbury will be able to do. I am very excited about the future.

I do not envy moving a tank that large, that far, that often, or really at all. Welcome to the club though.

Thanks. It was a challenge both times, but with some planning and understading by the wife it all worked out well.

  4. Hello everyone, my name is Brad and I just wanted to finally say hello to the group! I have been hanging around the site for a long time, just never officially introduced myself. I am not a newbie but feel I am constantly learning from lots of different sources. I currently have a 100 gallon FOWLER tank with custom stand and canopy as well as a 75 gallon reef tank with custom stand. I will post some pictures and details of the tanks in the builds section when I have a chance. I have moved my 100 gallon tank from Lubbock, where my wife and I set it up originally, to Florida for a little over a year, then back to this area about 3 years ago. I am happy to report no losses in either move! The 75 has been set up for about a year and a half. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and say that I appreciate all the experience and knowledge that flows around this forum on a daily basis. If I have the ability, I would like to attend a meeting and get to know you all.

  5. Hello Everyone,

I have a 100 gallon (60 inches wide) fish only talk with live rock. I want to upgrade my lighting to LEDs, but wanted some suggestions on what type and how much would do the job. Obviously I want to enhabce the viewing of the fish, but don't want them too bright to cause algae problems. Any suggestions or experiences you have had would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
