Hi fellow reefers!
One of my lighting tube is worn. So, it is due for 4 new tubes. My current set-up that I received from a seller when I purchased this 90 gallon aquarium with 20 gallon sump setup:
I identified those 4 tubes are T5HO (54W per tube)
- Bright white
- Soft white
- Deep blue
- Purple
Should I continue to use this configuration if I want to have a thriving reef? I haven't purchased an anemone and I always want one but I am not sure if my lightings will sustain it.
The livestock I have so far:
- True Prec
- Fancy Damsel
- Striped Cardinals
- Lawnmowner Blenny
- Scotter Blenny
- Hermit Crabs
- Fighting Cortch
- Serpent Starfishes
Corals:
- Pulsing Xenias
- Mushrooms
- Keyna Trees
- Purple Sea Whips
Thanks for your time in advance and Happy Holidays!

I love that show. That show was the reason I jumped right back to reef keeping! I tore down my former 50 gal reef prior to moving to Austin, TX from California in 2008.

Hi,
I just picked up a LR with pulsing Xenias, Zoas and a macro plant from a fellow reefer. I just ID'd a hitchhiker and I confirmed it is a red serpent starfish. Now, it brings up a new concern, I never kept a starfish before. How do I feed the starfish when it is time for feeding? Do they eat on 'pods? Or I have to feed it myself? (if I could find it lol.)
Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi,
I am returning to the hobby as I suspended the hobby when I was moving from California to Austin, TX in 2008. I had 50 gallon SW reef and I had to sell everything because I didn't have room for it. After watching "Tanked" on Animal Planet channel last month, I missed having aquarium, so I decided to purchase 90 gallon tank with 20 gallon sump. I finally got it up and running as of yesterday. My new batch of live rocks from Marine Depot will arrive on Thursday, so my tank can begin new tank cycle. Can't wait!
